RAZORWYRE - Coming Out EP

Probably in my top 5 favourite New Zealand bands, Razorwyre (previously Gaywyre) play old school thrash/speed metal. I hate using the word epic, but the vocals are fucking EPIC, they make you want to yell "FUCK YEAH" with some devil horns on your fist whilst the thrashy guitar riffs cause a head banging sensation you can't avoid. My favourite song on the EP is 'Fuck You Tonight', watching this song live you just can't avoid to sing a long to the chorus - "Tonight, tonight, I'm gonna fuck you tonight, and be out the door tomorrowww!" repeat. They put this EP up for free download which rules cause it's fucking good!

CRAWLER - S/t EP

Crawler is a rad Auckland 4-piece hardcore punk sludge amalgamation. One of my favourite bands in Auckland because of their super fast and deathly slow heavy tunes. With just vocals, drums and 2 bass's, it's droney as hell, in a good way, a REALLY good way. Performances are awesome as well, energetic and chaotic, always enjoyable. This EP does them justice.

Buy the cassette from either No Way Out Records or Taphephobia Productions

WEEKEND NACHOS - Black Earth 7" EP

Fuck I love Weekend Nachos. I was listening to this last night so I thought it'd be good to make a post about their recent (1 month) release. This new EP is bringing out their more powerviolence side but retaining a lot of their sludgier sound. It feels a lot faster but that could be due to the fact it only has 4 songs each a minute or under! Which sucks because when I listen to powerviolence I like to have at least 10 songs, yeah even on an EP, to sink my ears into. However, the EP is solid and I enjoy it, just not as much as 'Unforgivable' or 'Punish and Destroy' but those are both solid records so it's expected. 2 of the songs are going to be on the new LP Worthless which is awesome because the sound is REALLY good, I can't wait!!!! So in a sense this little EP is just a taster for the LP which makes everything I said about it quite redundant, who cares. HARDOUT AS SHIT

WITCHRIST - Curses of Annihilation

New Zealands finest 4-piece Death Metal act. This band are fucking awesome, heavy as shit and tight as fuck. These dudes are actual hardouts, no playing around, no sir! This here 'Curses of Annihilation' is a bunch of demos that rule, oh and if you don't like it I think you may be the lamest dude around, chyrea. They're playing a show on the 9th of July with Shallow Grave, Open Tomb, Somme & Fuck Life at the Thirsty Dog (Auckland), the show will be SICK. But for now check out this shit
